I happen to run across this Obituary while I was viewing an obituary of a friend. I believe I am a second cousin to Jimmy! My uncle Sam was a half brother to my Mother, Lucille Ballard. I remember visiting uncle Sam while Vidalia (I believe she was called Vi) was there also. I was so fascinated with her and her name. All this was a long time ago when I was just a young child! We didn't get to visit often since we lived in NC, but I still remember the good times we had there...like home made ice cream, water melon, etc. My husband and I now live in Lexington, SC. The Ballard reunion is still in NC each year on the first Sunday in May! Would love to have some of Uncle Sam's family to come up in May so we can get to know about what's going on in your lives.
I am so sorry to hear of the home-going of James Ballard, Jr. May God give you peace and comfort, as well as the strength you may need in the days ahead. Blessings, Verlene Ballard Paxton 109 Silvercreek Dr., Lexington, SC 29027-8087
