Michael Brian Simpson COLUMBIA A funeral service celebrating the life of Sgt. Michael Brian Simpson, 29, of Columbia, SC will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Winburn, officiating. Full military honors and interment will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday at the Greenlawn Funeral Home. On-line condolences may be sent to www.greenlawn-columbia.com. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Sgt. Simpson departed this earthly life Sunday, July 1, 2012. He was born in Columbia, SC to Danny H. Simpson and Deborah Goff Campbell. Brian was a 2003 graduate of Richland Northeast High School. In 2006, Brian enlisted in the South Carolina Army National Guard dedicating his life to his country. During his military career he completed two tours in Iraq. Brian was very gifted with a knack for electronics. A loving person and devoted father, Brian enjoyed spending quality time with his children. Those left to cherish his fond memories are his mother and step-father, Deborah Goff Campbell and Wayne Campbell; his father and step-mother, Danny and Susan Simpson; his children, Angelia and Arden Simpson & Braxton Burton; his fianc‚, Ivy T. Burton; his paternal grandmother, Ina Simpson; three brothers, Brad Campbell, Will Simpson, and Allen Simpson; and a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
