Richard M. "Ricky" Blum PLEASANT VIEW - Richard M. "Ricky" Blum, 68, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, in McLeod Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Marion Baptist Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 30, 2016, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Pleasant View Baptist Church Social Hall. Ricky was born in Dillon, SC, a son of the late Morris S. and Elizabeth Porter "Lib" Blum. He was also predeceased by brother, Allan P. Blum, brother-in-law, Robin A. Rogers, and a nephew, Adam C. Bean. Ricky worked with Horace Mann Insurance for over 30 years. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. He graduated from Wofford College in 1970. Ricky and his father developed Francis Marion Plaza and Francis Marion Plaza Storage in the 1970s. Ricky was a charter member of the Red Man River Club for 38 years. He was an active member and current deacon of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Theresa M. Blum of the home; sons, Chris Blum (Kim) of Florence, SC, and Walt Anderson (Eden) of Conway, SC; daughters, Leslie B. Clark (Chris) of Green Sea, SC, and Tiffany A. Phillips (Dustin) of Pleasant View, SC; sisters, Diane B. Bean (Bill) of Spartanburg, SC, and Cindy B. Rogers of Marion, SC; brother-in-law, W.M. Martin of (Renee) of Pleasant View, SC; sister-in-law, Kathy W. Blum of Conway, SC; and grandchildren: Mollie Miller, Hayes Clark, Hudson Clark, Miles Blum, Chase Blum, Avannah Grace Phillips, Hollyn Phillips; and faithful canine companions, Ralph and Cal.
