Mr. Benenhaley died Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Born in Sumter, SC, he was a son of the late Jesse Benenhaley and Emma Oxendine Benenhaley. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring after 20 years' service as a staff sergeant, and was a Shriner. Mr. Benenhaley had retired as a jailer from the City of Columbia.
Surviving are his loving wife, Patty S. Benenhaley of West Columbia; daughter, Sharon Ratliff (Johnny) of Lexington; son, Steve Benenhaley (Trina) of Lexington; brother, Stanley Benenhaley of Sumter; three grandchildren, Nikki and Abby Benenhaley and Tanner Clark; also several nieces and nephews. Mr. Benenhaley was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
