Blythewood, South Carolina - Funeral Services for William Dean (Bill) Sharpe, Sr., 68, of Blythewood, will be held at 10 o'clock, Saturday, July 30th, at Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Road, Blythewood. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Friday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Locklear, Jerry Clark, Doug Lever, TJ Lancaster, Lance Belton, Steve Boney, Steve Corn and Brian Raines.
Mr. Sharpe, widower of Dora Leland Sharpe, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Born in Columbia, SC on May 23, 1954, he was a son of the late Thomas William and Barbara Dean Sharpe. Bill was devoted to his family and especially loved his two grandsons. He enjoyed supporting USC Gamecock Athletics, cooking, hunting, fishing and being surrounded by friends. He spent his career in construction, working within his family business, Sharpe's Contracting Services, LLC.
Survivors include his significant other, Kathy Morrison; son William Dean (Bill) Sharpe, Jr., and his wife, Candy; grandsons, Thomas William Sharpe and Joshua Jennings Sharpe; as well as a host of extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Samuel Sharpe and Jennings Sharpe.
Memorials may be made to SC Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Suite 301, Cayce, SC 29033, SOCA Foundation, 166 Stoneridge Dr #100, Columbia, SC 29210, or to St. Jude Children's Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Condolences to the Sharpe family. Dora was my best friend at work, and we worked on many projects together. She loved Bill and she talked about him all the time. I met him and I found him to be kind, friendly, and a lot of fun. May God bless the Sharpes in this time of sorrow.
