Robert Armour Obituary

Robert "Bob" G. Armour, 84, of East Greenwich, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2023. He was the beloved partner of Michael L. Ellis for over fifty years. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late John P. and Ruth A. (Morin) Armour.

Bob grew up in Pawtucket and North Attleboro, MA, prior to relocating to East Greenwich over forty years ago. He graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1958 and continued his studies in Education at both, Bridgewater State University and Brown University, where he earned a Master of Education degree. Bob was a schoolteacher for the Providence School Department for many years prior to retiring. He was a member of nearly every community theatre in Rhode Island, and was the assistant house manager at the PPAC in Providence for nearly thirty-five years.

Besides his beloved partner, he is survived by his niece and goddaughter, Kimberly (Armour) Beck and her husband, Bruce, of Plainville, MA; a godson, Michael Morin and his wife, Diane, of Warwick; an aunt, Victoria "Vicky" Morin of Pawtucket; several cousins and dear friends. He was the brother of the late William A. Armour and brother-in-law of the late Priscilla M. (Valentine) Armour.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, beginning with visitation at 9:00 a.m. in WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Ave., Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090 would be appreciated. I can honestly say I have never met a kinder, sweeter, gentler man then Bob. He always had a smile and if you did not have one by the time he was done talking with you your day became a lot better and you let smiling. PPAC and the world lost a great man. RIP Bob. Thanks for all the memories both times around.
