Barbara Howland Obituary

Barbara Ann Howland
Carrollton - Barbara Ann Howland, age 89 of Carrollton passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Boyd Hospital in Carrollton. She was born August 14, 1935 in Carrollton, the daughter of Rufus Verna McDade Baker. She married William Howland November 7, 1951 in Jerseyville and he preceded her in death February 23, 2023.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra (Mike) VanHuss of Girard, a son, Randy (Joan Stewart) of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley) Howland, Brittany Howland, Bethany VanHuss; a great granddaughter, Meadow Howland; a sister, Wanda Hall of Carrollton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Roger Howland; and her siblings, Phyllis Vahle, Ilene Hardwick, Evelyn Hardwick, Esther Burger, and Clayton Baker.
Barbara loved to decorate her home for holidays and spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, going to thrift stores, and yard sales.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with burial to follow in Carrollton City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Tri-County Combined Veterans Detail. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
