EUGENE 'GENE' HOOK
ALTON - Eugene "Gene" S. Hook, 84, died at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at VIP Manor in Wood River.
Born on September 20, 1930, in Roscoe, Mo., a son of Alfred Lee and Alta Mae (Emerson) Hook.
He married Sharon Kay Samuelson on August 3, 1976, in Jerseyville. She survives.
He was a Machine Operator Company, at Owens Illinois Glass.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Melissa Hook of Alton, Candace and Brian Baremore of Rosewood Heights, Nanette and Joseph Markovitch of East Alton; one sons, Terence Hook of Alton. six grandchildren; Brianna Hook, Calvin Markovitch, Dylan Hook, Bailey Baremore, Dakota Baremore, and Dalton Baremore; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Everett and Eileen Hook of Buchanan, Tenn., Virgil and Margie Hook of Godfrey, and Buddy and Carmen Hook of Godfrey.
Preceded in death by his parents; and a stepson, Mika Lynn Sebastian.
He was a Korean War Army Veteran, and a life member of the Alton VFW Post #1308.
Visitation: 3:30 p.m. until time of services at 6:30 p.m., with military rites on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.
