WOOD RIVER - Robert W. Keefe, 87, of Wood River passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Integrity Health Care in Wood River.
He was born September 28, 1929, in Wood River to Virgil and Hallie (Martin) Keefe. He married Alta Dossey November 20, 1948, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wood River. Robert worked as a lineman through IBEW #649 and Union Electric until his retirement in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Alta Keefe of Wood River; five daughters, Linda (Charles) Hoffman of Wood River, Gail Keefe of Wood River, Julie (Ed) Anderson of Wood River, Kathy Keefe of Springfield and Carolyn (David) Peterson of Wood River; eleven grandchildren, Rob (Robyn) McBrien, Katie (Melvin) Johnson, Anne Oberkfell, Scott Fraundorf, Rebecca (Krishna) Cherukuri, Joe (Lindsey) Doyle, Mike Doyle, Adam Walston, Stephanie (Corey Taft) Walston, Chris Walston and Rachel Bergtholdt and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Shane Fox.
Private services will be held at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
