Roger Davis Obituary

Roger Lynn Davis
Jerseyville - Roger Lynn Davis, 79 of Jerseyville, IL passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024. He was the youngest son of the late Harry Earl and Hiley Marshall Davis also of Jerseyville. He was a 1961 Jerseyville High School graduate and a United States Army Veteran having served in Korea from 1965-1968. After his military service, he joined the Jersey County Sheriff's Office in 1970 and served until 1978, first as a Deputy Sheriff and later promoted to Lieutenant. He retired as a security guard from The Boeing Company in St. Charles, MO, in 1995.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harry Louis and Robert Lee Davis, and a half sister, Edith Gerva Breitweiser. He is survived by his sister, Inez M. Taake and her three children, all of Texas. Inez and her children would like to thank Roger's personal friends and longtime caregivers Paul and Pamela Cunningham of Jerseyville for their consistent care and loving compassion for Roger.
Roger was a man of few words, but his laughter was contagious. He loved a good joke, good food, fireworks, cars, and the Jersey County Fair. Rest in peace dear son, brother, and loving uncle.
Roger's life will be celebrated at a private graveside service in Jerseyville's Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
