Ron, you were always a great friend to me. I miss you and wish you were still here. There are many things I would like to tell you. And of course, we could not talk without laughing. And we would probably plan a trip together. Your generosity and friendship will never be forgotten. Yes, I still have the ties you gave me, and I pray for you whenever I wear one. Bruce

I have known Ron since he was 7 years old. Our parents were friends, and I lived with the family for 2 years while working in Alton in the mid 1950's. He was like a little brother to me. His dedication and care of his parents was incredible. I always told him he had his special place in heaven. I will miss him. See you on the other side, Ron.

Celebrating a life well lived. I met Ron after Bruce and I married (almost 8 years ago). Ron and Bruce had been very good friends for many years. First, Ron visited us in Houston, TX. Then, in 2010, he graciously hosted us in Alton. I have wonderful memories from both visits and I will cherish these memories forever.

One of my heroes is gone, but he will never be forgotten. Every time I take the stage I will think of Mr. Webb and how he opened my eyes to the theater in 3rd grade. The ripples you've made in this life will echo into eternity my friend.

A man we lost way too soon who had such an impact on so many lives. Jim and I regret that, due to doctor's appointments, we are unable to attend the service. Our sympathies and love we send to all who loved him.

I was so blessed to have Mr. Webb as my teacher for both 3rd and 5th grade. I still remember many of the school lessons and life lessons he taught us. He gave us all self confidence and went the extra mile to feed our curiosity and make learning fun. He will be missed.

I was lucky enough to have Mr. Webb for both 3rd and 5th grade, but he wasn't just one of my favorite teachers - he's one of my favorite people :-) So caring for his kids, and so excited about teaching them. Not just academics, but other lessons that stay with me to this day. Later we became friends, and we'd usually make time to visit when in town. Last February it was so special seeing him and the legacy of students - now adults - that he leaves behind. Miss you Mr. Webb - to paraphrase Shakespeare, let my heart speak for thee!

I met Ron through the Knights of Columbus. Sadly, I didn't know him very well or for very long. Everything I knew about him before we met was positive. He reflected character anyone would be proud of, and was a good example of a good Christian man.

My words are cliché in a pocket-full-of-sunshine way -
Every exaggeration and platitude spewed through the air
By a mouth too juvenile to tell the truth.
But you, you trained it, reigned it, brought it up,
Taught it to thirst like there's not enough wisdom or knowledge in all the world,
And if I would just open my eyes and let my brow furrow, I could taste it all
'cuz I knew where to look.
Three generations in a well-polished suit
Planting the seeds that would yield the fruit before you,
And the harvest swells like a million voices shouting cogitate
To the world you taught and helped us to create.
One solitary man expanding the sum of humanity
Through exponential ideas in his free-verse community,
Extending his legacy like scrolling script on the papers of our hearts and the chalkboards of our minds.
Most authors fade in obscurity,
Dusted volumes rusting from misuse,
But you, you live in a million quests for knowledge
Countless passions sparked, burned, and donated
To endless degress of separation.
And we, we bow before the king at the banquet
In gratitude for the platitudes you so willingly bore
And together, we feast on forever.
Thank you, Mr. Webb. For everything.

Ron Webb was a wonderful man! I appreciate the guidance and influence he gave my daughter. It was this guidance and influence that helped mold her into the wonderful person she is today. I will always be grateful to him! He will be missed!
