It is with immense sadness that we announce the premature and untimely death of Brian William Blomain, Esquire on Monday, June 10. He was born in Dunmore on May 2, 1995. He was the son of Dr. Eric and Taryn Blomain. From childhood forward, he was gifted with strength, courage, insight, compassion, and a sense of fair play. The news of his death has been met with tears and great sadness from the many that loved him.
He was described as the bright light bulb in a dark room in any social setting. He loved life and lived fully, making every moment count. He was an avid sports fan, supporting his Philadelphia teams and most recently the Seattle Kraken. He was a proud season ticket holder for the Eagles and was notoriously generous in hosting friends and family at his beloved seats to the game. He loved music of various genres, attending many concerts too numerous to count. While maintaining an excellent work record, Brian always had time for friends and family. Brian has touched the lives of many people in a positive manner. He would thoughtfully and carefully listen to anyone he ever spoke to. If they needed help or advice, he would give them a compassionate, meaningful, and realistic solution without being judgmental.
Brian was the product of the St. Clare/St. Paul elementary school system. He graduated from Scranton Preparatory School. Brian completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University Maryland in 2017 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in economics, and a minor in philosophy. Brian was also a member of the Phi Sigma Tau honor society. While in college, Brian was a summer intern for the federal judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the Honorable Malachy Mannion. He was also a summer intern for the Honorable Judge Thomas Vanaskie for the federal Third Circuit Board of Appeals.
Thereafter Brian earned his Juris Doctor from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. During law school, Brian was chosen to be the executive editor of the Villanova Environmental Law Journal and was the author of "Trump Administration Makes a Splash: The Altered Clean Water Act's Rippling Effect on State and Federal Water Regulation," published during his tenure. Brian was a research assistant for Professor David S. Caudill, during which time his research was used for publication. He received post-graduate certifications in negotiation mastery and contract law from Harvard University.
Brian was admitted to the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State of New Jersey, U.S. District Courts for Middle and Eastern Districts, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. At the time of his death, he was working at the firm of Marshall Dennehey of Philadelphia, where he served as a general liability defense lawyer. Brian was also generous with his professional expertise, working as a pro bono lawyer for the Christian Legal Clinics of Philadelphia.
Brian radiated kindness and compassion to all, and we are a better family for having raised Brian. Brian is survived by his beloved fiancée, Tova Rabin, Esquire; his mother and father, Dr. Eric and Taryn Blomain; his brother and close confidant, Dr. Erik Scott Blomain and sister-in-law Dr. Candice Blomain; his aunts and uncles, Dr. Lee and Joan Besen (godparents), and Frank and Susan Goryl; and the Rabin family. He is also survived by a large and caring extended family and many close friends, too numerous to name here.
Visitation will be at Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home on Green Ridge Street, Dunmore, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from the hours of 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Church, 1510 Penn Ave. in Scranton, on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment will be at St. Thomas Cemetery in Archbald following services. Eric,
Our heartfelt condolences are with you, Taryn, and family. Having been where you are, we know the inconsolable pain that you are suffering. Be heartened by not lamenting too long, and in Brian´s honor live a full and active life going forward. As he would have wanted. You´ll see that in time, when you think of Brian, as we do of Jake, instead of tears, it will bring a smile.

Brian was a courteous, empathetic, helpful, handsome human being who is credited with helping to save the life of, and mental health of, a friend. He took the time to listen to, and offer helpful advice to, a fellow human being. I'm positive to many others also. He truly was a friend indeed. So many tears shed over Brian's untimely passing. He was a shining star and he is deeply missed and his bright legacy is appreciated. Heartfelt sympathy to his family who cherished and nourished such a friendly guy and are so proud of the human being that he was.
