James Mosher Obituary

James T. Mosher of Carbondale died Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jean Calafut.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late James and Pauline Hannick Mosher, he was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post 4712, Simpson. Before his retirement, he was employed as a maintenance worker at the Carbondale Elementary School. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed spending summers at Lake Henry, especially being on the pontoon boat.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Clara Burke, Carbondale; his caregiver, Michele Borosky, Carbondale; a daughter, Debbie Murphy, Colorado; two sons, James, Carbondale; and William, Pittsburgh; three brothers, Edward and John, both of Carbondale; and Paul, New Castle, Del.; a sister, Helen Kulish, Levittown; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Mosher; and a sister, Roseann McHale.

The funeral will be Friday with a blessing service at 9:30 a.m. in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale. Interment, Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford.

Jim will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was always laughing and had a funny saying or story right on the tip of his tongue. He was a bright light in an otherwise darkened place.
