John Falvo Obituary

John J. Falvo, 97, Carbondale, passed away Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. His wife, the late Frances (Trichilo) Falvo, died in 2019.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Carlo and Grace (Bonacci) Falvo, he was a United States Army veteran and parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. John was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who also enjoyed bowling, golfing and hunting.

Survivors include a brother, Victor Falvo and his wife Delores; a sister, Helen Muro; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary (Trichilo) Purvis and Mary (Spizzirri) Falvo; a brother-in-law, Robert Trichilo and his wife Kathi; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Carmine, Felix (Joe) and Anthony Falvo; infant brother, Carlo Falvo; and a sister, Frances Falbo.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
