John Treco Obituary

John F. Treco, 80, of Taylor, formerly of Indian Rocks, Lake Wallenpaupack, died Friday evening at Scranton Health Care Center. He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 30 years, Marion Hopper Treco.

Born Aug. 29, 1939, in Yonkers, N.Y., he was the son of the late Melbourne and Alice Flannery Treco. He was a die-hard, dedicated worker his whole life until the age of 79, and was a sales representative for Components and Controls, Carlstadt, N.J., for 35 years which served the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. John had a heart of gold and was a wonderful, giving husband, father, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa. John put love into everything he did for his family. He enjoyed pontoon boating on Lake Wallenpaupack, a good game of billiards and cards with the guys every week. He loved his cocker spaniel Gracie. He was a former member of Knights of Columbus, Council 6336, Old Bridge, N.J.

Also surviving a son, Brian Treco (Kelly), Shepton, Pa.; a daughter, Theresa "Terri" McGowan (Frank), Monroe, N.J.; a brother, Robert "Bob" Treco (Jean), Yonkers, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Jean Treco, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; and Helen Treco, Hemet, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Frank Hopper (Mary Ellen), Pinehurst, N.C.; grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Pilecki, Samantha Carter (Joe Rains) and Robert (Rosa) Carter; great-grandchildren, Phoebe and Ashton Rains, Briana, Brian, Brandon, Anabelle and Casey; niece, Mary Ellen Hopper; and nephew, Robert Hopper; and many additional nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Rita Wuestenhoefer Treco; a daughter, Christine Treco; sister, Joan McDermott; brothers, William, Melbourne, Raymond and Carroll Treco.

Calling hours and a blessing service by the Rev. Francis L. Pauselli will be privately held from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor.
