Julia Bunk

Julia Bunk, a resident at Allied Skilled Nursing Center, formerly of the Providence section of Scranton, died Wednesday at the center. She was the widow of Joseph R. Bunk, who died Jan. 31, 2005; the couple was married for more than 54 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Danilich. She was educated in Dunmore schools. Before her retirement, she was employed by the Giant Market for many years.

Julia was a loving and caring person, willing to help anyone in need. She loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was a member of St. Paul's Church and a former member of St. Joseph's and St. Vincent de Paul churches.

Surviving are her son, John J. Bunk, Scranton; a daughter, Barbara Bunk, Bethlehem; a granddaughter, Julia Buselli, Pittston; a great-grandchild, Jett Weidow; two sisters, Ann Kowpak and Margaret Klepadlo, both of Scranton; a brother, William Danilich, Dunmore; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, John and Joseph.

The funeral will be held Saturday in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, 1510 Penn Ave., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 at the funeral home.
