Louis Orama Obituary

Louis Raphael Orama, Dunmore, son of the late Candida Prieto, passed away at home on Thanksgiving in the comfort and company of family. He was 68.

Born in Puerto Rico, raised in New York City, he began the path of life with many hardships that he held with conviction to be sure to benevolently pass forward to his children and ensure that they had the best opportunities in life. And that he did. He was a pillar of faith and determination to all he knew.

A veteran Merchant Seaman who served in Vietnam, Louis raised four boys and a girl and always led by example. Upon guiding them down their individual paths in life, Louis continued to display his altruism in the community to neighborhood children and parents alike.

Though his time came too soon, it is certain that he left with no regret. And albeit he will be missed dearly, his legacy will forever be celebrated.

Surviving are brothers, Joseph, Deltona, Fla.; and Noel, Broomfield, N.J.; and sister, Sheila, Dunmore. He had four sons, Zachariah, Ezekiel and Jeremiah (Romie) Beltran and (little) Louie; along with daughter, Sandra Lee. A niece, Celina Orama; and nephews, Miguel, Joseph and Joshua Orama. And six grandchildren, Zack, Joshua, Rachel and Tori Beltran; Dylon Luis Rabitti and Romie Caidence Orama.

The funeral will be Monday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with a blessing service at 10 a.m. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.

Viewing will be held today, 5 to 8 p.m.

November 29, 2012

Im so sorry to hear of the passing of Louie. Joey, Sheila, Noel, Sandra her brothers and the entire Orama family have my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy. Although many years older than me, I've known Louie my entire life and have many memmories of him while growing up in NYC. I am certain Miss Candy, met him with open arms and introduced him at the gates of heaven. May they both rest in eternal peace.

I am sad about what happened to my bus driver. He was a great man and he will be missed. He was the best bus driver I ever had. He dropped me off in front of my house everyday instead of me walking down to the normal bus stop . My bus stop has been in my drive way for the past 4 years. We will miss you.

I was sad to hear the news about my daughters former bus driver. He was so nice to her and all the other children. I will never forget one day last year it was raining and instead of going a few more feet to where the kids were supposed to get dropped off he let her off right in front of our sidewalk. I thanked him and his response was "she deserves it" from that day until the last day of school he let her off there. He was such a wonderful man and will be missed.

My name is Louis Orama III, son of the amazing man that spread his wings. I would like to send a heartfelt "thank you" to those who have signed his Guest Book. Dad was an amazing, humble man and though I expected to be broken down, he has kept me so strong since his passing and he never did and never will cease to amaze me (I love you, dad). Again, thank you so much for signing...
