Mr. and Mrs. Zazzera were very kind people. I remember growing up in Carbondale and having Mr. Zazzera helping my dad (who was raising 4 of us by himself after my mom died) with a spaghetti dinner for us from time to time. Mrs. Zazzera fixed the wedding gown I wore (which was my mother-in-laws from the 50's) and she used the buttons from her dress to fix mine. They were very kind people.

My deepest sympathy to the family on the loss of their parents. Working at the Ben Mar in the 60's was a great stepping stone in my early life. The Ben-Mar was the best restaurant in town. Of course working there I was able to be a part of the family knowing all the children at that time. May Marino and Benedetta rest in peace. My Sincere Sympathy to the family - Carla Pompey

So sorry to hear about their passing. They were good neighbors, along with all their children, when we lived next door to them in Carbondale.
The pain of their passing will soften over time. Their memories and community outreach will be remembered forever.

To the Zazzera's,
My earliest memories in life are with the Zazzera's, especially Andrea and Mrs. Zazzera. While the bond between our mothers was started by proximity living next door on Washington Street. It remained through my mother's passing on August 13, 1997 because of true friendship that lasted the miles and the years. I am sorry to hear the news of their passing, but heartened by your parents love till the end. In addition your mom's devtion to St. Theresa serves as a sign of this bound because by chance it was hers as well. My thoughts go out to you all during this time. With warm thoughts and memories, Warren Davis (69 Washington Street), now Chicago, IL

Dear Zazzera Family
Cannot express to all of you our deepest sympathy, grew up as neighbors on Wyoming St. Such wonderful memories. Then with Betsy & Ed, as our neighbors so many good times. We always felt like part of the family. Mr. & Mrs Zazzera as we always called them, we just couldn't call them Marino & Benedetta. I guess it was just the way that we grew up. We just loved and respected them so much. We are in Florida, but please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Talk soon.
