Michael S. Repecki, 85, of Dickson City, died Tuesday at home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Carole Blakiewicz Repecki, who died Oct. 4, 2023.
Born in Throop, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Zamushinsky Repecki, and was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. He was a member of St. Mary's ushers' society, and he was a bingo and picnic volunteer. He was a graduate of Throop High School and served with the United States Army. Mike was employed for 39 years as a manager with Giant Markets, and later he worked for 15 years in the maintenance department at Mid Valley School District, and 20 years as a bus driver for the district.
Loving Husband, father, pop-pop, and great pop-pop, Mike was an actively involved member of the Dickson City community, especially the Dickson City Historical Society and the Church of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Dedicated to his family his whole life, he loved attending his grandchildren's events and milestones. His favorite memories were those of polka dancing with his wife, Carole. Even when interrupted by family or stranger while he was fixing unfixable or doing yard work at his home, he always took the time to not only talk but listen - especially if they brought a pie or cookie. His positive impact on all those around him will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are three children: daughter, Carolyn; sons, Michael P. and Rebecca, and Mark A. and Jean; grandchildren, Kristyn Schultz and Steve, Michael M. and Emily, Lianna and Chris Gould, Molly, Ryan, Matthew, Delanie and Lila; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Meola; and a brother, Thomas Repecki.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with a mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Throop.
