Suzanne Flynn Santarsiero, 68, of Scranton, died Saturday afternoon at home after an illness. She is survived by her husband and caregiver, Daniel Santarsiero. They had celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on May 14. She was the love of his life, and he was hers.
Born in Scranton on Sept. 7, 1953, to the late Robert and Josephine Flynn, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School class of 1971 and went on to graduate from Marywood College in 1975 with her Bachelor of Arts degree. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at the First National Bank in Dunmore. Suzanne always loved the holidays, vacations at the beach, and spending time with her family, especially her godson Nico, her sister Donna, whom she spoke with every day, and brother-in-law Richard for all of his love for her during her time of illness.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the exceptional team of doctors and health care workers that cared for Suzanne during her times of need, namely Compassionate Care Hospice in Olyphant for their kindness, especially her angel, Lisa. Also profound thanks to Dr. Cynthia Oleski and Dr. Giovanni Ramos, Dr. Georges Chamoun, his nurse practitioner Lori Talutto and all of his staff; Dr. Michael Campenni and the staff at Moses Taylor Hospital Infusion Center, as well as Patty Joyce who always took care of her at check-in.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her loving sister and best friend, Donna Menichello and husband, Richard; her cherished godson and other love of her life, Nico Menichello and his fiancée, Sarah Marsh; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved as if they were her own.
She also leaves behind the greatest group of girlfriends and dinner buddies, Cathy, Marilyn, Jan, Ann Marie and Betty Ann. Last but not least, her childhood friend, Cathy Mazur, and the group from the Dunmore High School Reunion Committee who never passed up a chance to have an excuse to eat, drink, be happy and talk about the old days.
The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Entombment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that contributions in Suzanne's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

So sorry to hear of Suzy. I remember the fun times we all had together going out to dinner. As Cathy would say "our crowd". One thing we have is our cherished memories. Suzy was a wonderful warm person, she'll certainly be missed.
