Frank Edwards Obituary
Port Huron Twp. - Frank William "Pops" Edwards Sr., 89, of Port Huron Township, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
He was born November 28, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to the late James and Josephine Edwards. He married Gracie Mae Henderson on October 24, 1959 in Detroit. She went home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2014.
Frank served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked in quality control for Chrysler Corporation. Known to some as "Pops" and to others as "Pop Pop," he was a long time member and greeter at New Covenant Life Ministries. He was a car fanatic and enjoyed roller skating, traveling, watching western movies, and collecting hats and watches.
He is a father to eight children, Winona Lewis, LaCreta Henderson, Denise Edwards, Frank (April) Edwards Jr., Francetta Edwards, Dion (Heather) Edwards, Sabrina Edwards and Athena (Curtis) Viola and "Dad" to many; 31 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday in New Covenant Life Ministries.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in New Covenant Life Ministries.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
