James Buck Holzhauer

Marysville - James Buck Holzhauer, age 72, of Marysville (formerly Dearborn), passed June 25 after a long illness.He was born September 26,1948 in Detroit to Ralph and Phyllis (Buck) Holzhauer.

He graduated from Redford High School in 1966, served in the Navy (1967-71) as an AMH2 stationed in Rota,Spain, and toured Europe while stationed overseas.He graduated from Walsh College with an accounting degree and was employed by U.S. Dept. of Immigration & Customs, U.S. Army Tacom (Warren) as Inventory Mgmt. Spec., retiring 2005, and employed by H&R Block for over 20 years.

Jim was an avid antique auto enthusiast restoring two c.1930 Model A's. He was a long time member of the Model A Restorers Club. Growing up in Rosedale Park he was active in Boy Scouts and Bushnell Congregational Church.

Jim is survived by his sisters, Christine (Michael) Mallon of Washington State, Kathryn (Rick) Maxwell of Mason, Ohio, six nieces, four nephews, five great nieces and four great nephews. Family was his greatest joy - he was the one family and friends relied on -- from babysitting to airport transports. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Percy & Elizabeth Buck, John & Christine Holzhauer, sister Ann Spry, brother Mark Holzhauer and special friend Ernestine Nelson.

Memorials may be made in his memory to Parkinson's Assoc., American Heart Assoc. or Detroit Public Television (PBS). A private interment at Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville, with celebration of life for close friends and family will be held in August.
