Pauline Bean Obituary

GRAHAM - Mrs. Pauline Dix Bean, 77, of Townbranch Road, passed away at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
A native of Pittsylvania County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Humphrey and Lilly Laws Dix.
Pauline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was retired from Lemco Mills and she loved the outdoors, whether she was fishing or just sightseeing for deer. She was a member of North Graham Baptist Church where she cherished her church and church family and was famous for her banana pudding and her pineapple cake.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Delbert Bean, of the home; daughter, Debbie B. Bunton and fiancé David Lynn, of Seffner, Fla.; son, Allen Bean and wife Liz of Graham; grandchildren, Randall Lunsford and wife Nicole of Burlington, Todd Bunton and companion Kristen Tatum of Graham, Nikki Mesa and husband Danny of Virginia Beach, Ashlin Bean and Alex Bean, of Graham; great-grandchildren, Kensey Lunsford and Lucas Bunton; sisters, Dorothy Owens and Jean McMiller; brothers, Curtis "Red" Dix and William "Bootsie" Dix; special aunt, Clara Ferguson; sisters-in-law, Vitha Morse and husband Walt, Brenda Toth and husband Steve, and Bobbie Pickard; numerous loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence Dix, Lynwood Dix and Ernest Dix.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with Pastor Randy Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at McClure Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of the son, Allen, 1044 Pineland Drive, Graham, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children at 1-800-241-4438; or, to the North Graham Baptist Church, 721 Washington St., Graham, NC 27253.
The family of Mrs. Bean would like to extend a special thank you to the faculty and staff of the NSICU at Chapel Hill for their support and love during her illness. Also, her family was very proud of Pauline for being an eye donor, hoping that she may help someone less fortunate with the miracle of sight.
