Terry Thomas Obituary
July 13, 2025
LAUREL BLOOMERY - Terry Thomas, age 75 of Laurel Bloomery, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and French Thomas; three brothers, Bill, Dan, and Don Thomas and his brother-in-law, Dean Thomas.
Terry was a contractor by trade. He loved growing a garden and sharing his crops with his neighbors. His main passion was fishing. He enjoyed going to the ocean and surf fishing any chance he had. He and Ruth loved bringing their nieces and nephews every year to the beach. Later on, they continued this tradition with their great nieces and great nephews.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 48 years, Ruth Thomas; two sons, Billy and Bobby of the home; two sisters, Ann Thomas and Carolyn Blair (Marvin); several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and special friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Acre Field Cemetery with Tom Prater and Daniel Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Sumner, Dale Surber, Brady Nash, Fred Kimberlin, Eric Taylor, and Jason Blevins. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Blevins, Jeff Rupard, Benny Campbell, Cliff Storie, Robert Otey, Terry Reid and the men of Bethel Community Church.
