Funeral services for Larry Lee Hargrove will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 in the Chapel of White Oaks - Oakdale. Committal service will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home.

Larry, 84, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the Oakdale Community Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born June 10, 1931 in Oakdale to the union of Otto Ernest Hargrove and Jessie Ann Riser Hargrove. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Larry retired after serving his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He achieved 1st Class Radio Operator licenses. For many years, he operated the local radio station in Oakdale and worked in finance. He was a sergeant for the Oakdale Police Department and retired as a Seismic Agent for the state of Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. His greatest accomplishments were being a loving husband, father, brother, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Hargrove; one brother, Thomas Hargrove; one sister, Marlea Hargrove Davis; and one grandson, Timothy Lee Luedecke.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are: two daughters, Cindy (Gary) Horne and Elaine (Ziggy) Luedecke all of Oakdale; one son, Chris (Jackie) Bacon of Elizabeth; one sister, Judith Grace (Chuck) Copeland of Gonzalez; three grandchildren, Michael Horne, Mary Kate Gill, and Jacee Bacon; four great grandchildren, Mya Horne, Timothy Horne, Marlee Kate Gill, and Shelbee Kate Gill; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2015 in the Chapel of White Oaks - Oakdale from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., then on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m.
