Mary Margaret Morris passed away at 92 years of age on February 9, 2023. Mary was born on March 8, 1930 in Detroit Michigan to Rudel Roger Morris and Myrtle Ellen Leota Fowler.

She lived in Detroit for many years with her first husband William Murphy before moving to Ventura California. Mary was a hard worker, a loving mother and loved to sew, play games and roller skating. She embroidered many kitchen linens for all her children and grandchildren to enjoy. She encouraged her children to be independent, get a good education, play the piano and taught her daughters the gift of knowing how to sew.

She married Luis Duran Lopez on December 21, 1973. Together they ran a dry-cleaning business, got their pilots license and bought their own small plane. They later owned and managed a small motel in Paradise California.

She moved to Grass Valley in 2001 and In her later years, she loved living at the Bret Hart Retirement Inn. At 92 years old she was still very quick to respond and comment until the last few months. She loved watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune every evening, and baseball whenever a game was on her TV. She was loved by all who knew her cheerful, outgoing personality.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Bill, and her husband Luis. She is survived by her children Robert Thomas Murphy (Pauline), Gloria Jean Apple (Gary), Debora Ann Taylor (Steve), and Denise Francine Ballard (Tim), and 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mary requested her ashes be scattered in a beautiful place with a view.
