Anna Ardizzone Obituary

ARDIZZONE Anna S. Ardizzone, age 87, died April 1, 2012, at Highbanks Care Center, Worthington, Ohio, after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she lived in Hudson County and Toms River before moving to Original Leisure Village in Lakewood in 1984. Anna moved to Columbus, Ohio, in April of 2009 to live with her daughter, Joan Barton. She was preceded in death by her loving daughter Theresa Dinkel in November 1988, by her beloved husband Carl in January 2006, her son-in-law Walter Engelhardt in August 2008 and by son-in-law James L. Barton in January 2012. Surviving are a daughter, Joan (Engelhardt) Barton of Columbus, Ohio; son, Thomas (Shirley) Ardizzone of Holiday, Fla.; brother, Sal (Agnes) Grillo of Toms River, NJ; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Ruggio of Lakewood, NJ, and Lena Bowers of Upton, MA. Her grandchildren who will miss her are Theresa Winter of Greenville, SC, Catherine (Steven) Adams of Savannah, GA, Tara (Gil) Escalante of Durham, NC, Jaime (Dan) Ocasio of Forked River, and Eric and Brian Ardizzone of Holiday, FL. She also leaves behind five beautiful great-grandchildren, Alexis Winter, Amanda and Brayden Escalante, and Jarred and Shaylee Ocasio; many loving nieces and nephews; and many very dear friends made throughout the years who enriched her life. Family and friends are invited to call at St. Elizabeth Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus, Ohio, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Charles Cotton. A private cremation will follow. Arrangements by the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, (614) 436-9220.
