Robert Lewis Obituary

Lewis Robert J. Lewis, 73, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born in Ludlow, MA on July 14, 1943 to the late Fred and Irene (Jodoin) Lewis. Bob graduated from Sparrows Point High School in Baltimore, MD, served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era, and retired from UPS after 25 years of service. Bob was a member of The Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal for over 45 years where he was the RCIA director for 21 years, was a member of the finance committee, enjoyed Bible study and many friendships over the years. He liked to target shoot and feed the squirrels and birds. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother Larry Lewis and father-in-law John M. "Jake" Koebel. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Lewis of Columbus; son, John (Rachel) Lewis; grandchildren, Michael, Katrina, and Vito Lewis, all of Zanesville; mother-in-law, Betty Koebel and brother-in-law, Philip (Connie) Koebel, both of Gallipolis; nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 at The Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, 5225 Refugee Rd. Fr. James T. Coleman, Celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal or Mt. Carmel Hospice.
