James William "Dub" Teel, 97, of Alicia, left for eternal rest on Aug. 20, 2025.
He was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Walnut Ridge, to Joe and Christine Teel. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he was a communications lineman. He married Teresa Rose Hise on Oct. 25, 1958. He spent his life farming and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was of the Catholic belief.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa; his parents, Joe and Christine; brother, Bobby Teel; and sisters, Geraldine Sharp and Mildred Morris.
He is survived by his loving children and their spouses, whom became his caregivers, nurse, and doctors over the past few years. His sons, Joel Teel and wife Barb, Tyson Teel and wife Vicenta, and Terence Teel and wife Jaimie; his daughters, Jennifer Martin and husband Dennis, Bridget Lamb and husband Tom; and Wendy Fry and husband Jeff; his grandchildren whom he loved deeply, Anthony Teel, Kassie Craig, Jenna Martin, Rose Varner, Amber Teel, Mary Fry, Ana Fry, Jax Fry, Uriah Fry, Silas Fry and Bailey Bailey; siblings, Velma Stalnaker, Gary Teel, Roger Teel and Cathy Arnold; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A rosary was held Sunday, Aug. 24, from 5:30-6:00 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Visitation followed from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 25, beginning at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Walnut Ridge with Father John Marconi officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under direction of House-Gregg Funeral Homes of Walnut Ridge and Lynn.
Pallbearers were Aaron Craig, Hunter Smith, Alex Teel, Bryan Teel, Nathan Weaver and David Witt. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Stalnaker, Keith Sharp, Jim Stalnaker, Kendell Snedeker and Steve Arnold.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Walnut Ridge or a church/charity of your choice.
