Audrey Collins Long

Age 88, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Long; parents, Clarence and Lillian Collins; as well as 13 siblings. Audrey is survived by her son, David Long (Dianne); daughter, Sheila Campfield (Vic); her granddaughters, Tracey Lohr (Anthony) and Courtney Rasnake (Adam); and three great-grandchildren, Colton, Maelynne and David. Audrey was also preceded in death by Betty Hott, a caring friend for the last two years that was her roommate at Heritage Green. Audrey retired from Purchasing of Hanover County and volunteered many years at Memorial Regional Hospital. She loved to sing in her church choir as well as various gospel groups. She loved taking her granddaughters shopping. Audrey and Will loved the 20 years they spent as snow birds in Florida for the winter.

Services, with visitation an hour prior, will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Road. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ENON UMC, PO Box 68, Studley VA 23162 to help with the FeedMore program or to the Men in Ministry Group, PO Box 154, Mechanicsville, VA 23111 that will help build ramps.
