Barbara Daugherty Pastore

PASTORE, Barbara Daugherty, 90, transitioned to heaven from her home at St. Mary's Woods Saturday, January 7, 2023. A lifelong Richmonder, Barbara was born on Richmond's Southside, played in Forest Hill Park, graduated from John Marshall High School in 1950 and lived for 50 plus years in Sandston with the love of her life, Michael, who survives her. Also surviving are daughters, Dianne Pugh (Chuck) and Darlene Etheridge; son, David Pastore (Sharon); as well as seven grandchildren, Courtney Zahn, Kim Cornett, John Calvin Etheridge, Kelsea Witt, Marshall Pastore, Claire Phillips and Erica Pastore. Along with her five great-grandchildren, Barbara loved each one as much as she loved the beach, solving a difficult crossword or identifying a bird she hadn't seen before. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Woods and Trinity Hospice for their support and care. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Bliley's Central Chapel on 3801 Augusta Avenue, with a Funeral Mass celebrated at her long-time home church Thursday at 1:30 p.m., St. John's Catholic Church. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, please to St. John's Catholic Church, 813 W. Nine Mile Road, Highland Springs, Va. 23075. Interment to be private in Washington Memorial Park.
