Sherrie, I recently scanned through a Sept. Issue of the Mechanicsville Local. I was sorry to see your father's obituary. I recognized your name and I remember your little brother John from so many years ago. May your entire family be comforted and blessed by our Creator.

Sherry, I went to high school with you at Lee-Davis, where I teach math now. I read about your father and wanted to come by and visit at the funeral home but ended up not being able to. I want to express my sympathy to you in his passing. My parents are 90 and 93 and I love them very much and am glad we will all be together forever because of Jesus and what he did for us. But I wanted to try to connect with you and say I am praying for you in this temporary separation from your beloved father. I pray God will give you grace and peace. I hope you are doing well. My email is [email protected] and I am on facebook.

I just learned of Charles´ passing and am so very sorry. Janet, Mary Ann, Sherry Kay, Mark and John Harold: you already know what a special man he was. One of the kindest people I´ve ever known. I was a flower girl in Charles and Janet´s wedding. I will never forget his kindness and caring words when my Dad was sick. He and my Dad often talked hunting through the years. And the Warder Family Reunions will miss his home-grown tomatoes. He will be missed by many but never forgotten. I pray your cherished and loving memories will bring you comfort and peace. Love to all, Cousin Linda Sue

Charles came into my life almost a year ago. I was hired as a care giver . It turned out to be so much more.. It became evident that I needed him just as much. It did not take long for him to steal a big piece of my heart. He was so Sweet, Funny and very Generous. What started as a job, turned into a friendship that I will forever treasure. I'm happy that he is no longer suffering and I take solace in KNOWING, I will see him again. He called me (BOY)!! I never quite figured that 1 out but I learned to love it and in response to him, sometimes ,I called him...GIRL. Rest in peace Charles. You will always and forever be in my heart.

I have many good memories of my family sharing special times with the Drinkard family. Charles always offered encouragement to me and always had a smile! He was a family man and a great support to his church in so many ways! One of my favorite memories is Winston singing with Charles and the quartet ! Now they can sing together in their eternal home! Praise The Lord! Praying for God's peace and comfort during this difficult time

I had the privilege of knowing Charlie only a short time, but quickly learned what a genuine, caring person he was. He and Janet welcomed me into their home and lives as an interim pastor in 2019. Charlie was quick-witted and enjoyed having fun. No doubt, he will be greatly missed by family and friends. Janet, you and your family are in our prayers.
