Charles Miffleton Obituary

MIFFLETON, Charles Robert "Chuck" Jr., lost his battle with glioblastoma on March 14, 2024. He was born August 19, 1950 to the late Robert and Nancy Beck Miffleton, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe. Chuck is survived by his wife of 51 years, Terry; sons, Brian (Diane) and Matt (M' lisa). He was "Gaak" to his five grandchildren, who will also cherish his memory, Chase (Stephanie), Parker, Landon, Madeline, and Maci; and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Chuck grew up in Lakeside. He loved all things sports related, was an avid softball player, and a huge Hokies fan. Chuck was a runner and competed in many local triathlons. He was also a loyal member of ACAC (Midlothian). Chuck served in the Virginia Air National Guard and retired from Dominion Energy after 39 years of service. He had a great love for his family, friends, and home. In retirement, he loved working as a golf cart "boy" at Salisbury Country Club. Chuck had a dry, quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He will be sorely missed. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the amazing friends for their many acts of kindness and outpouring of love, as well as the many wonderful caregivers who cared for him during his illness.

Memorial services, with a period of visitation an hour prior, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the West Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, 1401 Johnston Willis Dr, N Chesterfield, VA 23235 or the Stuart Circle Hospital Alumnae Association Scholarship Fund, 7341 Dress Blue Cir., Mechanicsville, VA 23116.

Terry, In my early days of running and triathlons, I would always be beat by Chuck. My aspiration was to someho , someday get past Chuck. Consequently he was always my inspiration. Having meet him only once he impressed me as a friendly, wonderful fellow who loved life and lived it to the fullest. I confident you and Chuck had a great life and lots of good races. What Memories. Terry and family, I´m so very sorry to hear that Chuck passed away so early in life. He was a wonderful sole and I know 51 years is a long time to love someone , but he did love you and would have gone longer if his body had supported him. Bless your Heart!

Terry, Brian and Matt, along with all your families,
I am so very sorry to hear about the great loss of Chuck. Although we lived close in our history of 2 neighborhoods, I sure wish I'd gotten to know your lovely Chuck much better. He always seemed up beat and delightful when our paths crossed. May God hold Chuck and you all in the palm of his hand.

Terry I was very sad to hear about Chucks death . We played in the creek behind his house on Parkside 3 blocks from my house on Nelson Street. We were always joking about the time we got a formula to make Ink . we could not sell it but we made a mess for sure. I am so glad that I was able to stay in touch all these years at reunions . We were all lucky to grow up in Lakeside and have a long and happy life. God bless Chuck ,, Billy Robertson Pensacola Florida
