Donna Sheffer

Donna Brown Sheffer, born June 20, 1950, passed away December 25, 2025. Born and raised in Virginia, Donna lived a life marked by determination, strength, and deep love for her family. She enjoyed playing the piano and found joy in gardening, tending to both vegetables and flowers. Her yard was always admired for its beauty, which was a reflection of the pride she took in everything she did. She also treasured time spent relaxing and having fun with loved ones. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Later in life, while raising two young children, she went back to college and graduated with a degree in accounting from Mary Baldwin University. She then went on to become a bank manager at Southern States Credit Union. After a few years, she decided to work with her husband, Larry, creating a successful business, Resource Associates Incorporated. Donna loved gathering with family to play cards, share food and drinks, and enjoy laughter together. There was always a meal cooking on the stove any time you entered their home. She also loved going out on the boat fishing with Larry and her son Jeff, catching catfish, and frying them up. She will be remembered as intelligent, funny, classy, and graceful; someone whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around her. To Donna and Larry, there were no strangers, and friends were family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Sheffer; son, Jeffery Sheffer; father, Melvin Brown; and mother, Janelle Brown. She is survived by her son, Christopher Sheffer; granddaughter, Jessica Rolston and husband, David; grandson, Matthew Sheffer and wife, Caitlyn, and son, Noah; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Sheffer. Donna's legacy lives on in the love she shared, the family she cherished, and the beauty she created throughout her life.

A service will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Bennett Funeral Home (West Chapel) at 11 a.m., followed by a processional to Greenwood Memorial at 12 p.m. There will be a visitation prior to the service, starting at 10:30 a.m.
