Heartfelt condolences to Doris Day's family and friends. I screamed when I learned of her death. Doris Day was a beautiful human being and passionate educator who inspired generations to believe and excel. Over the years, Doris Day often reached out to me concerning various news stories or knowledge she wanted to share. She was motivated by a desire to help others. `Well done, good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy lord.´ - Matthew 25:23

My 6th grade English teacher at Nathaniel Bacon who never let me get away with just doing enough. You had such an impact on my life because you always challenged me to do more; not for the grade, but because I could do more.

I thank God for letting your light shine on my life. Rest In Peace.

God put you in my life in 1976 as my 6th grade teacher. I remember your positive quotes for the day. You believed in me when no one else did. You were at my college graduation. You have been an awesome mentor throughout my life. You even supported my daughter when she attended and graduated from VUU. We didn´t talk often but when we did I reminded you of how special you were to me and the impact you had on my life and countless others. Rest In Peace

I hope that you knew how much your life inspired the the lives of so many who will carry your rich legacy of education and respect. I´ll never forget our early morning rides to school and how much you have of yourself to myself and my fellow classmates at Chandler. I´m sure you´ve heard the words .... "well done thy good and faithful servant"

In 1989 you hosted me, a student from Germany. I thank you for introducing me to America and for allowing me to learn about things and meet people that otherwise I would have never encountered.

Rest in peace Doris.

Doris, I can´t tell you how sad I am that you are no longer here. You were life itself. You were and always will be love. You loved people and you showed that love in so many ways. You lived your life to the fullest and helped others do the same. You took care of your Dad so lovingly. Thank you for being my friend. You made my life better. I love you and will always miss you.
