Floyd A. Everett Jr. 74, of Richmond, departed this life Tuesday, October 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffani Michelle Everett and sister, Rosemary E. Murphy. He retired from the City of Richmond Dept. of Park and Recreation as Superintendent of Citywide Maintenance after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, LaFon W Everett; father, Floyd A. Everett Sr. (Thelma); sisters, Rena Everett-Jones and Vonda Nichols (Randal); brothers, Anthony Everett, Curtis Everett (Cecelia) and Kenneth Everett (Candace); other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held Friday, November 8, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at First Union Baptist Church, 3510 Dill Road. Rev. Pierce A. Williams, officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

My brother, as time goes on I miss you more and more. The calmness in which you live your life will never be forgotten. I still thank you for the memories you have given to me like teaching me how to read my first book. We are hanging in there just waiting for that great reunion. We shall not all sleep but we will be changed in a moment in the twilight of an eye at that last triumph sound. We will meet again. Miss you.

I had the pleasure of knowing Floyd through our time with the City of Richmond. We also did a lot of softball. Our work-related conversations were always insightful and poignant. I eventually learned that my friend Aubrey was his in-law. To the family, I offer my condolences. A good friend and his smile will truly be missed. Savor the memories.
