Frederick Mccullen Obituary

Frederick (Freddie) Morris McCullen of Prince George County went to be with the lord on May 19, 2024. Freddie retired from Honeywell, formerly Allied Chemical/Signal, after 39 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents Braxton James and Annie Ross McCullen of Hopewell, Virginia. He is survived by his daughters, Denise (Brad and late son, Robbie) Griffith and Lisa McCullen (sons Josh and Joel); son, Frederick (Veronica and son, Wesley) McCullen Jr.; 7 great grandchildren, and loving partner and best friend for over 50 years, Alice Summerville.

Freddie had a smile and personality that could turn a frown upside down. He enjoyed a good joke and had a great sense of humor. He loved playing music and was a DJ who entertained many for over 10 years. He was a collector of various things including music, movies, sports memorabilia and vintage novelty items. He was an athlete from school age to adulthood.

Freddie was a track star who broke track records and was on the basketball team in High School. He played golf in his adult years and once scored a hole in one.

Freddie was loved by many who knew him. He was adored and will be greatly missed by his family. His wish was for cremation and a private service to be arranged by Memorial Funeral Home.

Freddie and I were good friends through out high school. We were on the track and basketball teams together. I have fond memories of our times together. Attached are news paper clipping pictures from both sports. Freddie set the HHS school record in the 880 with a 2:01.6 time. I think his favorite race was his mile event. I will miss him.
