Helen K. Saunders

SAUNDERS, Helen K., 89, of Providence Forge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 12, 2021. She grew up in the Short Pump area. Helen retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield and was a longtime member of Four Mile Creek Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 29 years, Benny D. Saunders; her beautiful child, Ralph Patterson (Jan); stepsons, Benny Saunders Jr. (Cathy), Kenneth Saunders (Christie), David Saunders – deceased (Lindsay); and grandchildren, Michael, Stephanie, William, Travis, Matthew, Russell, Jackson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 18, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, 2950 New Market Rd., Richmond, Va. 23231 with interment to follow in Laurel Hill United Methodist Church cemetery.
