Irwin A. Schapiro

SCHAPIRO Irwin A. Schapiro, 88, of Richmond passed away May 6, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Muriel A. Schapiro; his sister, Mildred Reizenstein; his children, George Schapiro (Jo Ann), their children, Rebecca and Amy; Beth Schapiro (Janet Womack); Edmond Schapiro (Deborah), their children, Daniel, Jenna, and Michael; Bambi Salzberg Jones (Robert) and their child, Harley; and Harry Salzberg (Alice), their child, Leslie; (ex-wife, Robin Salzberg-Greene and her husband, William), her children, Lander, Daniel (Robin), and Anna Salzberg and William Greene III; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Lawrence and Lila Rosenthal; and brother-in-law, Merritt (Barbara) Abrash; and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Irwin was Vice President and Controller of Goldman Paper Stock Company until 1981. He served his community in many capacities, including the presidencies of Richmond's Temple Beth-El, Jewish Community Center, Beth Sholom Home, and Jewish Community Federation. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday (today) at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Avenue. Interment to follow at Richmond Beth-El Cemetery at Forest Lawn.
