We had the privilege to know Joan through our dear friends and neighbors, Patti and Steve Rawls, Joan's son and daughter-in-law. Joan was a regal, Christian lady and a fine role model for all of us. She will be greatly missed in countless ways. Our love and prayers are extended to Melvin, Patti, Steve, Meredith, Mason, Gregory, Mary Beth, Ashley and Madison.

Joan was the most outstanding,
caring person; everyone who had
known her, loved her. She was
so dear to me and I loved her so
much. Goodbye Joan.

Greg has always spoken so highly of his mother. He admired how strong she was and he knew she was at peace. Knowing she is healed, sitting at with Our Lord is most comforting. May you find peace in His arms. God bless you all.

Joan was a second mother to me. Her attention to detail in all she said and did makes me want to know firsthand in her words what she is experiencing in the Hands of our Lord and Savior. Joan - I love you and praise God for the honor of having you in my life. My prayers continue to go to Melvin and the family for comfort and peace. We love you all.

Before ever meeting Joan, I knew of her love for her church, her friends, and for her Savior. I met her but once, and that meeting proved the reputation which preceded her was indeed true.

Joan was and is a true Christian Lady, saved by Jesus, in the hands of God right now. We loved her, as did all who knew her. She is on the Glory Road right now.

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Joan is one of the most special people I have ever had the privilege to know. She faced her end like her life with great dignity and strength. We will all miss her non-assuming perfection.
