A very nice guy. I remember him well as a friend of my uncle(Pernell Andrews). He was always a pleasure to be around even though he was 10 years my senior. I only saw him on occasion but he stood out in my memory of years past. May God comfort his family and close friends.

Lorraine, I am sorry for the loss of Joe... your loss. I will write more over the next few days but wanted you to know I think God and the angels, your Mom and Dad, Pop-Pop are so glad to welcome this awesome human, activist, orator and loved one home. God doesn´t make mistakes and God ordered his steps and numbered his days to His will. May God bless you today and carry you until you are strong enough to stand on your own again. You are tough.. always know I´m a call away or text away if you want to talk.

I was sad to hear of the passing of a dear friend from our time at Virginia State College(now VSU).
Joseph (Joe) as we called him was a grad student and I was an undergrad student. We worked together in the Biology Building in a lab in the mid 70´s. I always remembered how smart he was and he inspired me to work hard and be at my best!

My sincere condolences to Joe's family. One of my fondest memories as a teenager was Joe, working in my Dad's lab, as a graduate student. He was like a big brother to me. Always kind, helpful and supportive. He will be missed!
