Marie Nesrallah Shaia

Marie Nesrallah Shaia, 91, of Henrico, went to be with Our Lord on December 10, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hafiza and Mitri Nesrallah; her beloved husband, Edward Harry Shaia; her siblings, Eveline Andeel, Eli Nesrallah, Noel Nassrallah; and sons-in-law, Scott McGough and Tom Anthony. She is survived by her children, Rose Marie Shaia, Rebecca Anthony, Dr. Paul Shaia (Lina), Theresa Bergen (Ron), Dr. Elizabeth Shaia, Anita Shaia, Bernadette Shaia and Gerard Shaia (Margaret); 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers, George Nesrallah (Marcel), Walid Nesrallah (Monique); her sisters, Samira Nesrallah, Elaine Laham; and a host of family and friends.

She lived a life of love, devotion, and faith. She was a longtime devoted parish member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and served as a Eucharist Minister and in the Communion to the Sick ministry.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the dedicated caregivers and companions who provided compassionate care to Marie during the past several months.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 22, from 6 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Road, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 23, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Westhampton Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School or Church.
