I wish so much that I knew Maritza better than I did. I have heard nothing but beautiful, funny and endearing stories of her. I work at the same company, and she had just moved to our area of the building. I know that when I walked by each day, she was a beautiful woman full of life and energy. I have just learned of your story and the events before she passed. Take comfort in knowing that so many people, even those you don't know, have this family in their prayers. Macho, our family is Hokie through and through. We will enjoy so much the opportunity to watch you at Tech. We will keep you in our prayers. Your mom is so proud. I am truly sorry for your lost. I never met your mother but I can tell that she was a sweet and sincere person. You are at your prime but everything seems as if its going to crumble. But this is one of God's many test that he has put to test your faith. And from what I've seen from you in Oral Communications Class, you believe in and truly love God as your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We don't talk much except for when we are having a debate or class activity but you can learn a lot about people from just looking at them. I can tell that your mother raised you right. Don't keep your emotions bottled up because in the end it will hurt you worse. Talk to your family/ friends and let them know how you feel. But just keep your faith in God and this storm will past.
To the family,
This is a time for you to bond and stick together unlike no other. I beleive God wanted Ms. Maritza for himself because he saw that he saw she was an angel here on Earth and he wanted her by his side. She is in a much better place; so grieve but not long for the storm will past and the sun is in your forcast.

To the Entire Family
It was only a couple of days ago that I saw Ma smiling, laughing, and making jokes. She was so happy. But she is still happy and no longer in any pain. But I want you all to know that God only takes the best and Ma was truely one of the best. And no matter what happens I am here for you. I just wanted to let you know that Ma is watching down on each and every one of yall. And I know that she is so proud of her beautiful children for staying so strong at this difficult time. Ma was like a mother to me, she treated me as if I was one of her daughters. I will never forget her gorgeous smile and how cute it was that she couldn’t say the letter W and how everytime I walked through the door she always greeted me with a warm hug and a kiss. I will miss that and I know you all will too. But I know that we will see her again and when we do I know that she will greet us with that same hug and kiss and that beautiful smile. Jasmine, Jazabel,Macho,NaNa, Orlando,Gina, Mita, and Victroy keep your heads up. You dont have to be so strong, its okay to cry. But when you start to feel really down just think of all the good times and remember that one day you will all share them again. I love you all, you are like my family - all my sisters and brothers and always will be. Anytime you need me or my sister, we will always be here for you. You know the number just call. And everyday we will continue to check on yall just like we always do. And I am praying for you and your family.

Don’t look at Maritza’s passing as a tragic event….Tragedies are events resulting in great misfortune….and everyone that has come in contact with, been inspired by, or personally knew Maritza knows her life was the complete opposite…a life to model yours behind….Maritza is simply gone to prepare heaven for our later arrival…God sends his angels to us on “loan” for a short period of time…and when their work is done…he calls them home…Maritza’s purpose on earth was fulfilled and on December 26th, he brought her home to finish celebrating his special day...And even though it was a day later...her arrival in heaven was right on time...Don’t look a her passing as a sad event…Rejoice because Maritza is with the Lord….Although one chapter of your family’s book has closed….the story is incomplete….The legacy Maritza leaves behind will give you a wealth of information that will enable you to continue writing her story.

To the Harris family,
Though I did not know Maritza she seemed to be a cool and loving person to be around. I go to Highland Springs High... I went to most of the football games and ones I didn't go to ,I watch parts of them on ch 36... Their was one I saw where Macho was like in an interview on the field after one on the games and his parents were there .. his mother looked like the happiest person in the world. The smile on her face , the loving of which she gave her children. When I think of how Maritza showed her love for her children I thought of this poem by Thomas J. Langley.......
