Mark Switzer Obituary
September 20, 1957 - December 18, 2024
Switzer, Mark Edward,67, of Sandston went to be with Lord on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He grew up in Covington, Virginia and was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Louise Switzer. Mark was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Debbie, his sons Edward (Valerie) and Brendan(Rebekah) Switzer, and his grand children Elianna, Grayson, Kruz Switzer. He is also survived by his sisters Judy Friel and Carolyn (Mike) Stevens, his brother Paul Switzer; as well as, a nephew and several nieces. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25 at Highland Springs United Methodist Church, 22 N. Holly Ave., Highland Springs, Va. 23075. I lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the church or Massey Cancer Center at VCU. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Massey Cancer Center and the VCU Hospice team for their loving care of Mark.

Mark and I shared many adventures growing up together in Covington. We also enjoyed being fraternity brothers and our time at Concord University. Spring break to Florida beaches and Disney World were the best! Thanks Mark for the great memories. All my condolences to you and your family.

Great memories from Concord University and the best Fraternity Brotherhood of Alpha Sigma Phi. Keebie and I were roommates for a short while and had a while to get to know each other
