To Dr. Barringer´s family,
I was a patient of his in the 1970s and went weekly for allergy shots and had pretty bad asthma. I remember him fondly and I´m sorry to hear about his passing. May God bless his memory in your hearts.

Dr Barringer was my Dr until I was 17 years old. He was also my oldest son's doctor. Dr Barringer was a very friendly man with a great sense of humor. He will be missed. Our sympathy goes to his family.

Sherene and all of Michael's family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you - - Michael was loved by many - especially by my daughter, Lisa - and Sherene you know you have always been very special to Lisa as well as to all of her family. Time is a wonderful healer, but the beautiful memories you have will help you survive each day and know that he is "up there" looking down at you with all of his love!!! May God bless!!

When my son was 6 he obtained a hairline fracture in his right leg. We stood and watched in amazement as Dr. Barringer encouraged him to drink some medicine that would help ease the pain. This was a child who absolutely refused to take medicine of any sort from anyone. Dr. Barringer had a special gift of communicating with children and their parents making them feel at ease in any situation. He will be greatly missed. Our condolences to his family. God bless.

Dr. Barringer also treated my 2 children Kathy and Michael, both now in their early thirties. He was a great Dr. Our prayers go out to the family.

Dr. Barringer was my son's (Glen Lewis, Jr.) doctor also. He was an awesome doctor and had us in his charming grip from the moment Glen was born. I met Dr. Barringer in the hospital on November 5, 1968. I enjoyed taking my little one to see him and learn much about parenting from him since I had never had a baby before.
My prayers are with you while you are experiencing sadness at this time. I will continue to pray for you as you grow stronger. God bless.

Dr. Barringer was one of my son's doctors in the 70s and early 80s. He was in practice in Richmond with Dr. Gayle G. Arnold and was the designated expert for all allergy-related issues in their pediatric practice. Even though one of Dr. Barringer's duties was to perform painful "scratch" tests to introduce allergens into our son's system, our son always loved to visit the good "Dr. Mike". He kept track of all "hip" tunes, musicians, "jive" talk and secret handshakes so that he could break the ice with his patients and put them at ease. Dr. Barringer displayed an all-encompassing care for his patients and their parents and siblings. He was a wonderful doctor and a friend to many generations. We were lucky to have known him professionally and personally.

Sherene and Family,
Dr. Barringer was my brother’s, and I pediatrician for years. He was a great doctor, and a great man. I wanted him to be my children’s pediatrician, because he was wonderful. I don't think you could find another pediatrician like Dr. Barringer, because he was unique. I remember when I went for my yearly check-ups, that he would have a bullentin board in every examining room with all the pictures of his patients, he took pride in what he did. I always remembered asking him when I went for my check-ups if I had to get a shot, and he would just smile, but I knew when Sherene would take me for that walk I was getting one. Sherene was an excellent nurse, I remember sitting in her lap, while they drew my blood. A year ago I was trying to locate Dr. Barringer, because I want to see him. He will be greatly missed.

Mike was a great doctor to both of our sons, Michael & Jonathan Kauffmann, back in the 70's. He was caring and his enthusiasm for life was contagious! What a blessing he was to all who knew him. Thinking of you, Sharene & may all the fond memories you made together make your heart smile. Paul and Joyce

I am deeply saddend to learn of Dr. Barrringer's passing. He was the pediatrician for my children (now in their 30s). As a first time mother, I appreciated his treatment of my children and me! He sensed my apprehensions and treated my concerns with respect. Never once was I treated as "just another nervous mother". My children experienced good health and continue to be healthy. I appreciate the role the played in their health care. He was an excellent doctor and he was a professional. My prayers are extended to his family in their profound loss.

We are so sorry to hear about Dr. Barringer. Geoffrey would talk to him when he came in at Joe's Market and come home and tell us he saw him. Just wanted you to know how much we loved him and we are thinking of all of you at this time.
