ROCKEFELLER, Nicholas Andrew, Staff Sergeant (R) "Rock", 38 years old, of New Kent, Virginia passed away on the morning of February 1, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, following a courageous battle with cancer. Nick was a bright star in this often difficult world and will be missed by so many friends and family members. Nick had a passion for music of many kinds, particularly rock and heavy metal. He loved to collect and play guitars and was a member of several bands (Seraph & Heavy is the Head) who played in Richmond and along the east coast. Nick honorably served in the Army for 17 years, as a Chinook flight engineer and mechanic. He loved to fly and was a brave and loyal soldier as well as a patient and loving dog and cat dad. He married Catie Walker in 2022, and they built and moved into their dream home in 2023. Nick is predeceased by many loving grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Catie; fur babies Baloo, Jack, Penny, and Bagheera; his parents, Lisa Crowe (Kenny), Steve Rockefeller, Judi Rockefeller; his grandmother, Dee Dee; his sisters Brittany (Jesse) and Avery; his brothers, Evan and Jose; his nephew and niece, Zeke and Zoey; aunts and uncles, Shelia Glass (Bruce), Steve Mooney (Doreen), Andrew Rockefeller (Julie), David Rockefeller (Julie) and Jackie Savage (Mike); and cousins, Christina Mooney, Ashlee Wooten (Chris), Samantha Miller, Kassi Glass, Hunter Glass, Kaleb Rockefeller, Taylor Rockefeller, Jackson Rockefeller, Garrison Rockefeller, McKenzie Rockefeller, Alexis Rockefeller, Aimee Sellers (Craig), Margot Savage- Morrison (Joseph), Meredith Gajovski (Stephen) and Allison Reavis (Nick). Nick never knew a stranger or enemy and always focused on creating a connection with anyone he came into contact with. He shined so very bright. Nick would encourage us to 'be excellent to each other'.
