Patrick M. Hull

HULL, Patrick M., 54, of Richmond, Va., passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2021. A devoted father, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Pat was born June 8, 1966, in Louisville, Ky., to John and Marianne Hull. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marianne, and he is survived by his father, John Hull; his sister, Katie Hull Stiles; his brother, Christopher Hull; as well as his daughters, Madison Hull and Madalyn Hull; and a son, Benjamin Hull. He was a 1984 graduate of Lafayette High School in Williamsburg and a 1988 graduate from Virginia Tech earning a B.S. in building construction. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, he founded Cayman Incorporated, a project management company, and after pursing his Master's in Construction Management at Virginia Tech, he founded Groceries Direct, an early online shopping platform. In 1998, Pat envisioned utilizing the Internet to revolutionize the transportation and logistics industry, launching GetLoaded.com and FreightCheck. He was passionate about marketing innovations and using his ideas to create, launch and guide successful companies and investments. Through Phull Holdings (est. 2002), Pat continued his interests in more than 30 businesses. Most recently, he was CEO of Encrypted Sensors and CEO/co-founder of Kloch. In 2009, he established The Hull Foundation through which he contributed to numerous charities with a firm belief in breaking down socioeconomic barriers to let human potential flourish. He established the Hull Foundation Endowed Scholarship at VCU Brandcenter (2018); founded NPO Launchpad (2019); and mentored at the Boys Home of Virginia. He often could be found sharing his unique business insights, strategies and life philosophies with the goal of supporting and guiding those looking to become successful entrepreneurs.
