Pearl, 96, of Goochland, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2024.
Pearl was born on June 11, 1928, to B. Christian and Minnie Allen. She is survived by her three sons, Johnie "Curly" Parrish Jr. (Sharon), Warren Parrish, Bruce Parrish, and her daughter Sherry Lane; her seven grandchildren, Lisa Michele Winall, Heather Leigh Parrish, Christopher Riddle Parrish, Bruce Elliott Parrish, Jr., Shane Douglas Parrish, Brandy Lynn Monge, Tyler Alderman; and her great grandchildren, Jordan Leighann Winall and William Shephard Winall.
Preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband of over 60 years, Johnie Milton Parrish, Sr.
Pearl retired from the Goochland County Public School system where she worked in the cafeteria for over 25 years. She loved interacting with the students. Pearl was an avid dancer, often she could be seen on the dance floors of Kents Store and Fluvanna Lake. She found peace and happiness being outdoors. Her family was very dear to her, and she will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27th, between the hours of 6:30 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Chapel, 2982 River Road West, Goochland, Virginia. A Funeral service will take place at Forest Grove Christian Church, 3881 Hadensville-Fife Road, Goochland, Virginia on Friday, June 28th, at 11 a.m., with interment to immediately follow in church cemetery.

I´m so sorry to hear of your mother´s passing. I bonded with Pearl at my workplace and loved her like my own family. She was the highlight of my days, always cheerful and never at a loss for words. Her wit amazed me at times! She loved to dance, joke, and would talk lovingly about her late husband and children, whom she was so proud of. May God be with your family in her absence. Pearl was a true legend.

So sorry for your lost. Always remember Johnnie and Pearl dancing at Kent´s store and Wilmington while Davis Hodges, James Grady, Marvin Payne, Richard Payne, George Payne and Fred browning played good old days.

I just loved Pearl! She was always saying the funniest things when I was with her... I always loved being around her! She was one of the best lunch-ladies teams ever! No one can ever replace that team of ladies and Pearl was a big part of them! She will be missed dearly!
