Rachel Meyer Obituary

MEYER, Rachel Bender, Rachel's vibrant spirit and passion for life touched the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her dearest, most splendid accomplishments-daughter Reagan and son Aiden-her husband Kyle, parents Charles and Judith (Maher) Bender, brothers Mark (Suzanne) Bender and Adam (Anna) Bender, niece Ella and nephews Charlie and Noah, and many cousins. Adored by all, Rachel's most cherished time was with her close-knit family and many friends. A devoted mother, music-lover and gardener, she entertained friends and family at her home many days of the week. She loved life fully, every day. She graduated from Colonial Heights High School and received her Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. She excelled at her job as Vice President of the Executive search team with the StevenDouglas firm. She served on the Executive board of the Better Housing Coalition and the Board of Mary Munford Elementary School PTA. As we mourn her loss, we celebrate Rachel's beautiful life and her legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she loved. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the Better Housing Coalition or the Mary Munford Elementary PTA. The family will receive friends at St. Edwards Catholic Church 2700 Dolfield Dr, North Chesterfield on Friday September 1 at 12 p.m., with a service at 1pm and a Celebration of Life to follow.

Dear Benders,

We are so saddened to hear about Rachel´s death. She left an indelible mark of happiness and love on whatever she touched. As your next door neighbors in Colonial Heights when she was in elementary school her happy laughter and smile were always a welcome sight in our home. She and Dana hung out a lot together-such a sweet friend. I am so glad she thought to include us in your 50th wedding anniversary, Chuck and Judy, so we could reunite after more than 35 years and see what a great family you have. Rachel, you indeed made a difference.

Kyle, this is your old childhood friend Chris A. from Brandermill. So sorry for you loss. I only met Miss Rachel once, when we had picked up you and Mr. Hank returning from NewZealand. She met us in the alley, no very happy. Again, so sad.
