Richard Gustine Obituary

Richard was born May 9, 1948, to Henry and Edith Gustine of Benton Harbor, MI. He is preceded in death by his sister Janet and survived by his sister Dee.

Following his service in the Army, Richard moved to Virginia, where he met Sara Mackey, who survives him. Although their marriage did not last, he called their two children, Jordan Mackey Gustine (Joel Rader) and William David "Dave" Vincelli Gustine (Rose Vincelli Gustine), "the best things I did with my life." He has one grandson, Liam Vincelli Gustine.

Richard worked for the United States Postal Service for 34 years before retiring. There he made life-long friends with whom he travelled, saw bands, and celebrated strangeness. They could often be found at local festivals and shows. In his own time, Richard enjoyed bicycling, gardening, reading and jigsaw puzzles.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.
